PURPOSE:To provide a thermal head which has excellent effects such as enhancing workability and reliability and in which a common electrode is connected to lead wires that are adjacent to their electrode with a tape carrier. CONSTITUTION:An objective head that connects a common electrode 9 to n lead wires that are adjacent to one side of the common electrode 9 with one tape carrier 6, for instance a common electrode from which a group of 32 heat generating resistances are taken out is provided with connection terminal for external circuits that are mutually independent, and the width of this common electrode is formed so as to become gradually smaller as it gets farther from the heat generating resistances. By this construction the amount of expensive gold used is reduced, realizing cost down in a great measure. |
