PURPOSE:To improve an S/N ratio of a color signal, by fetching the color signal as a color difference signal by a complementary color filter of 1 picture element/1 color, and raising a modulation degree of the color signal which is space- modulated. CONSTITUTION:As a color filter used for a single solid image pickup element, an M filter 501 for cutting off a green light beam in the constant ratio, a G filter 502 for transmitting a gree light beam, a Cy filter 503 for cutting off a red light beam, and a Ye filter 504 for cutting off a blue light beam are placed on the picture element. The M filter 501 and the G filter 502 are arrayed repeatedly in the horizontal direction, which is made the first horizonta picture element row. The Cy filter 503 and the Ye filter 504 are arrayed repeatedly, which is made the second horizontal picture element row. These first and second horizontal picture element rows are arrayed repeatedly in the vertical direction, of which a filter is constituted. When a color signa is detected in accordance with said constitution, a color difference signal is obtained directly, the modulation degree is raised, and the S/N ratio is improved. |
