PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive horizontally rotating shuttle for sewing machines preventing shaking of an inner hook during rotation of the shuttle, without requiring a high dimensional accuracy for the components of the shuttle. SOLUTION: The horizontally rotating shuttle for sewing machines slidably supports, by means of both a track portion 6b at the open end of an outer hook and an inner hook holder 4, a projecting portion 2a formed on the outer peripheral surface of the inner hook. The horizontally rotating shuttle comprises a support member 5 for vertically movably supporting the inner hook holder, and an energizing means 7 for energizing the inner hook holder downwards.
