A device for treating a liquid, in which particles suspended in a liquid are made flotatable by adhesion of small gas bubbles, comprising a flotation space, a duct for supplying the liquid to be treated near the bottom of this space, means for saturating, at an increased pressure, a liquid with a gas, which means comprise a compression pump, a duct connected to the latter means and provided with a decompression valve or the like, and opening near the bottom of the flotation space so as to enable gas bubbles being produced at decompression in the liquid to adhere to particles present in said space and suspended in the supplied liquid, arid means for discharging from the flotation space, on the one hand, a layer comprising the separated components and floating on the liquid present therein, and, on the other hand, the remaining liquid, wherein the supply duct for the liquid to be treated is connected to the suction side of the compression pump so as to saturate with a gas the liquid to be treated itself, arid the duct opening into the flotation space and provided with a decompression valve serves at the same time for supplying said liquid to the flotation space. |
