<p>PURPOSE:To display and translate a desired word without requiring alphabet keys, KANA (Japanese syllabary) keys, etc., by reading and displaying words, stored in a dictionary memory, successively in the order of the dictionary by operating a search key. CONSTITUTION:Dictionary memories 20 and 21 are stored with words of the 1st and 2nd languages respectively, and a searching means searches their storage contents in the order of the dictionaries through the operation of a search key 5 and displays them at a display part 2. The words of the 1st or 2nd language displayed at the display part 2 are translated into equivalents of another language under a translation command and then displayed at the display part. For example, a translation mode TR is specified with a mode switch 6 and after English-to-Japanese E J translation is specified with a function key 5, English words are searched for with an initial key IN, and search keys , , etc., and displayed; and then the translation key TR is operated to display Japanese words which correspond to English words.</p> |
