PURPOSE:To shorten the time to seek a track, by shifting immediately a magnetic head onto the adjacent track of the relevant track before a seek instruction is given from a CPU when access is over for the final recording of the track. CONSTITUTION:The seek instruction of the adjacent track of the preceding processed track is given to an instruction analysis execution controlling mechanism 2 from a CPU via a channel CH and an input/output interface 1. The seek instruction is analyzed by the mechanism 2 and then given to a start controlling mechanism 3 and a data transfer controlling mechanism 4. At the same time, the analyzed instruction is given to a floppy disk driver 7 via an advanced read controlling mechanism 5 and a drive controlling mechanism 6. Then the data of the final address designated by the instruction is read out to buffer memories B-1-B-n. Thus the completion of the data process is informed to the mechanism 5 from the mechanism 6. Then the mechanism 5 gives immediately via the mechanism 6 an instruction to the driver 7 to shift the magnetic head to the adjacent track before the next seek instruction is given. |
