PURPOSE:To remove troubles at pipe making or welding by attaching optical fiber in the longitudinal direction along metallic tape supplied in a pipe making process, forming the metallic tape like a pipe, and melt-sticking the seam of the formed pipe by welding. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber feeding means 10 to supply optical fiber 11 and a guide roll 14 set up on metallic tape 13 with a space between the tape 13 and the roller 14 are provided freely rotatably. The optical fiber 11 is supplied between the guide roll 14 and metallic tape 13 while being guided by an intermediate roll 15 arranged between the feeding means 10 and the guide roll 14. The guide roll 14 is placed approximately on the center of the breadthwise direction of the metallic tape 13 so that the fiber 11 is positioned on the bottom of a formed pipe 17 at pipe making. The metallic tape 13 on which the optical fiber 11 is set up longitudinally is formed by a rolling rolls 18, 18- in the pipe making process and the seam of the formed pipe is melt-stuck by a welder 19. |
