PURPOSE:To provide a titled printer which effectuates an output of an abnormality detecting signal only during a period ranging from a point of time when a printing finish signal is generated to a point of time when a printing start signal is produced, and can improve a printing rate, being provided with a means for detecting energization of a coil. CONSTITUTION:If an LF signal (new line command) and a CR signal (return command) are determine by a decoder 31, a printing start signal S1 is set to a 1, and if a printing finish signal S4 is inputted, the printing start signal S1 is set to a 0. The printing start signal S1, a detecting signal S5, and an output of a timer 38 are inputted to an AND gate circuit, and the timer 38 will have zero output after it continuous to keep 1 for only a given period starting from a point of time when the signal changes to a zero from 1. As a result, after a given time has elapsed from a point of time when the printing start signal S1 changes to zero from 1 by means of the printing finish signal S4, the detecting signal S5 is effectuated. The output of the AND circuit produces an abnormality detecting signal S6. |
