PURPOSE:To always indicate a normal printing action to a printer, by delivering an additional print code from an input/output controller in case the print code delivered from the printer ends with an uncertain print code. CONSTITUTION:In case the final code information of a print data block is set to a function extending code, this extension code is held also at an input register allotted to an RAM44 within an input/output controller 4. Accordingly, it is checked as to whether or not the value of the RAM 44 is equal to the extension code after detecting 0 at an output of an output code length register. When no coincidence is obtained through the above checking, the printing action designated by a device 1 completes. While in case coincidence is obtained, an extension end code is delivered from the controller 4 to a printer 5 via a firmware routine stored in the ROM44. And the information of the extension code set at the last one of the printing blocks is canceled to complete the printing action which is designated by the device 1. |
