PURPOSE:To prevent cavitation by fitting sponge-shaped damper materials covered by metallic plates on the inner surface of a cylinder block faced to a water jacket provided by the periphery of a cylinder liner and the inside of the cylinder block. CONSTITUTION:A water jacket 5 is provided between the periphery of a cylinder liner 2 and the inside of a cylinder block 3, while sponge-shaped materials 10 covered by metallic plates 11 are fitted on the inner surface of the cylinder block faced to the water jacket 5. In this construction, since the change of water pressure caused by the vibration of the cylinder liner is absorbed by the damping work of the sponge-shaped damper materials 10 to prevent cavitation, the periphery of the cylinder liner 2 can be prevented from corrosion. |
