<p>The installation comprises a vortex tube, essentially in cylindrical chamber with tangential inlet for fluid refrigerant and a coaxial, circular passage extending from each end face. One of the coaxial passages is of much larger dia. than the other. The smaller dia. passage delivers into a venturi effect tube which serves as a treatment zone. The venturi effect tube extends coaxially, practically full length of a surrounding chamber which serves to recycle refrigerant fluid from the downstream end of the tube into the venturi. The installation is for freezing food prods. either in batches or on a continuous conveyor. The freezing system uses no mechanisms apart from transport conveyors, i.e. no compressors, fans, blowers, regulators and defrost systems. The new system is self-regulating.</p> |
