PURPOSE:To promote discharge of magnetic metal from a rotary drum and prevent the wear of rotary drum by repeating stopping of generation of moving magnetic field for a short time at a fixed period. CONSTITUTION:In a nonmagnetic metal separating machine, a linear motor 3 is driven for a fixed time to generate a moving magnetic field and then driving is stopped to stop the generation of moving magnetic field. This is repeated by operating a timer 20 of a driving device 3a of the linear motor 3. Thus, even when magnetic metal remains in the cruched refuse, the magnetic metal stays in the rotary drum 1. Accordingly, the wear of the inner wall of the rotary drum 1 is prevented. |
