The vehicle jack has a supporting arm hinging on a leg under the action of a screwed spindle turned by a hand crank and attached between it and the leg. At the free end of the arm is a support plate with a recess accommodating a protrusion on the vehicle underside, the plate hinging on an axis immediately below it and parallel to the arm axis. At the free end of the arm (23) are two parallel axes (41,42) supporting the plate, which tilts on one or the other of them adjacent to its recess (45). The plate has two curved guide members extending round the axes on the opposite side to its supporting surfaces.
