PURPOSE:To improve the image quality of a toner image by performing development by a magnetic brush method, and then by applying the surface of a recording body with magnetic attractive force which is weaker than the electrostatic attractive force of an image part of an electrostatic latent image adsorbing magnetic toner and stronger than the electrostatic attractive force of a non- image part. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive drum 1 is supplied with magnetic toner from a magnetic brush developing device 2 to be developed. Under the developing device 2, a nonmagnetic sleeve 5 turning closely to the surface of the drum 1 and an image adjusting device 8 which has magnets 6 and 7 installed in a still state in the sleeve are arranged, and magnetic attractive forces of the magnets 6 and 7 are made weaker than the electrostatic attractive force of an image part of the electrostatic image on the drum 1 and stronger than the electrostatic attractive force of a non-image part. Consequently, magnetic toner sticking to the image part is held as it is, and the magnetic toner sticking to the non-image part and the circumference of the image part is transferred to the surface of the sleeve 5 and scraped off by a blade 13. |
