The combination bridle and halter is held in place by fitting loops (a-b) over the ears and a belt under the throat (f). It has an attachment for bits and snaffles (e). It can also incorporate a nose-band (h), passed through the uprights and with a ring (1) at the rear end for the attachment of a tether. The nose-band can be of thin rope, exerting a pressure on the forehead of the horse by a slight pull, to dissuade it from taking the bit between its teeth.
|
