PURPOSE:To increase the life of furnace walls and to recover heat energy from a furnace body by generating steam of prescribed pressure by means of the heat extraction from the furnace wall bricks through plural pieces of heat pipes installed in the same horizontal plane in the circumferential direction of a blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:When furnace wall bricks 4 receive thermal load from the inside of the furnace, the endothermic parts 1' of buried heat pipes 1 are heated, and the heat medium in the pipes 1 deprives the heat and arrives at the heat radiating parts 1'' installed in the water in a pressure vessel 5. The heat medium in the pipes 1 is condensed in the parts 1'' and shifts into the parts 1' by transmitting through wick. On the other hand, the cooling water supplied into the vessels 5 from water supply pipes 6 receives the heat from the pipes 1 and evaporates to steam. In this case, if the inside of the vessels 5 is maintained at set pressure by means of pressure regulators 8, the steam of prescribed pressure is withdrawn through steam discharge pipes 7. It is desirable to provide plural stages of the heat pipes in the step upper than the tuyere parts. |
