<p>The brake is for the adjustable-angle backrest of a seat. It comprises a housing attached to one section and a small plate to a second, movable in relation to the first, which fits in a box with a friction packing. The plate can either slide freely when an external control is actuated, or is clamped in place by a spring acting on the housing to grip it between the latter and packing. The clamping force can be increased by an amplifying lever.</p> |
