PURPOSE:To dehydrogenate and clean molten steel continuously by passing the molten steel in the form of liquid film in the evacuated waste gas vessel of a tundish. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel is received from a receiving ladle 1 into the receiving vessel 2 in a tundish through an atmosphere adjusting means 3 then through a receiving nozzle 3'. Next, when both of a waste gas vacuum means 4 and a vacuum means 5 for controlling flow rate are operated, the molten steel in the vessel 2 ascends in an ascending pipe 6 via a communicating hole 12, and arrives at the top end of a molten steel liquid film flow passage 7, then it flows down toward a waste gas vessel 8. At the time when the molten steel passes through the passage 7, it flows in the form of a thin film, and has an increased surface area. In this region, the gaseous hydrogen in the molten steel is removed. The amt. of the molten steel to be supplied into the mold is regulated by regulating the inflow rate of the molten steel into a molten steel supply vessel 10 with a flow rate control pump 11 and the degree of vacuum in the upper part of the vessel 10 by the means 5. |
