PURPOSE:To prevent degradation in developing capacity by removing the dissolved gas contained in a developing soln. for a silver halide photosensitive material before said developing soln. is used for developing the silver halide photosensitive material and/or during development. CONSTITUTION:The dissolved gas contained in the developing soln. for the silver halide photosensitive material is removed before the developing soln. is used for developing the silver halide photosensitive material and/or during the development. More specifically, the developing soln. 20 charged into a development processing tank 19 is introduced through pipings 18, 16 by a pump 17 into a deaerating device 8. The developing soln. 20 introduced into the device 8 is returned through a piping 15 to the tank 19 and is thereby circulated. Oxidation of the developing agent and antioxidant by contact with air bubbles and air during the development process is, therefore, prevented and in addition, the carbon dioxide dissolved and absorbed into the developing soln. from the air is removed as well. The image defect by the degraded quality of the developing soln. is thereby prevented. |
