<p>The thrust bearing comprises an operating housing (10) connected to a gear lever fork at brackets (16). The operating housing has a flange (14) onto which is assembled the ball thrust bearing (11). The outer race of the bearing is fixed to the operating element whilst the inner race is free to rotate. The fixing is achieved by the spring steel retaining ring (26) of the undulating type, held in place by four equi-spaced clips (24). The clips have a tee-shaped head at each end which fit respectively into slots formed in the retaining ring (26) and the operating element flange (14).</p> |
