PURPOSE:To use a specific compound as a photographic magenta coupler which is superior in coloring speed and max. coloring density, does not produce photographic fogs and yellow stains and has stable coloring property with time. CONSTITUTION:The compound expressed by the formulaI[X is residual groups of heterocyclic aromatic compounds (contg. >=2 pieces of any of oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur and selenium); R1 is alkyl, aryl, heterocyclic group; R2 is acylamino, anilino, ureido; (m) is 1-5 integers], for example, the formula II. The above- mentioned compound is used by adding the same as a coupler for forming magenta dye images in the constituting layer (more preferably green sensitive emulsion layer) of a photosensitive material at about 0.01-3mol ratios per mole of silver halide contained in its emulsion layer. |
