PURPOSE:To obtain a gas diffusion electrode which prevents electrolyte from leaking through pinholes by fabricating the gas diffusion electrode in such a way that more than one sheet of water repellent resin film are adhesive bonded with a resin adhesive or by heat-treatment, and this composite film is stuck to a catalyst layer. CONSTITUTION:One side of a polytetrafluoroethylene film 6 of 100mum thickness, 0.5-1mum main distribution of pore size and a 50% porosity, is coated with the dispersion 10 consisting of tetrafuoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene copolymer, and stuck to the same film 6. This composite film is adhesive bonded by heat- treatment at 280 deg.C, pressed to join with a catalyst layer 5 having a metal core and mainly consisting of active carbon, to fabricate an air electrode. |
