PURPOSE:To permit opening of a fixing device when electric power supply is interrupted on account of service interruption or the like by conducting the electric power of a charging part to a fixing device opening solenoid when the power supply is interrupted or the power source is turned off inadvertently during copying operation. CONSTITUTION:An electric circuit is constituted of a capacitor 21, transistors 16, 17, etc. that can flow sufficient electric current to a solenoid 9 opening a fixing device. During copying operation, the Trs 16, 17 are turned on by a jam detection signal, and the solenoid 9 is energized, by which the fixing device is opened. When a main switch 11 is turned off during operation, relay contacts 12A shift to the contact (a) side, and electricity is simply discharged through a resistance R4, but when a jam detection signal enters an output terminal MR-S, a relay 18B shifts to the contact C side, and the voltage of the capacitor 21 turns the TRs 17, 16 on to energize the solenoid 9, so that the fixing device is opened. Thereby, the fixing device is opened when there is jammed paper at the service interruption or the like. |
