<p>The mechanism is intended for aligning a pack (P), which may consist of stacked layers, prior to applying strapping around it (at x-x) in a strapping machine. The pack is moved by a conveyor track (6) which passes through an aligning station (7) provided with infinitely laterally adjustable (24) side walls (32,34) symmetrically arranged relative to the longitudinal centre line (L-L) of the track. The walls have longitudinally movable pusher plates (46) which are capable of engaging the rear of a pack and carry vertically movable pressure plates (56). The plates (46 and 56) pref. act on the rear corners of the pack only.</p> |
