PURPOSE:To improve the quality of recording picture elements by arranging plural nozzles each of which forms picture elements of which diameter is less than a half of the interval between scanning lines and by selectively varying the number of jetting nozzle to be operated according to the coarseness or fineness of a picture to be transmitted or received. CONSTITUTION:Two heads are installed to a carriage and a source of recording signal is connected to both heads through a change-over switch. When an original for transmission, (A), is scanned, picture signals, (B), are generated and when these signals are recorded by a conventional head which prints picture elements of which diameter equals the interval between scanning lines, recorded picture elements are forced to overflow as shown in (C). In the case of this invention, the printer uses 2 nozzles which record picture elements of which diameter is about a 1/2 of the interval between scanning lines, therefore the boundary between a white part and a black part can be clearly defined. Even if a picture is recorded at a line density of 2 times finer than that of (D), the resolution of the image is not degraded as shown in (E). |
