Readily digestible starch contg. foodstuff- and feedstuff additives that are free from undesirable chemicals are produced by (a) swelling a paste of vegetable starch flour and an aqs. liquid (e.g. water, milk, or liquid milk products) by brief heating at 60-85 degrees C, (b) liquidizing in a homogenizer until starch grains can no longer be detected under the microscope, and (c) pulverizing in a vacuum-drying tower to give a dry powder product. |
