The prefabricated building having several floors is made up of modular box-like elements (1,1a) which are parallelepiped in shape and moulded in one piece. Each element comprises a closed base (2) and side walls (3) which contain apertures (4) for e.g. doors or windows. The box-like elements (1,1a) are stacked on top of one another to form several spaced vertical columns (5,6) and are interconnected by prefabricated horizontal panels (7) the ends of which are supported by extensions projecting from the perimeter of each base. The elements in the columns are pref. secured together e.g. by cables passing through vertical conduits in the side walls.
