PURPOSE:To maintain prearranged sterilization effect and at the same time corrosion-resistant and long-lived sterilizing filter medium by coating at least one surface of a sheet-like filter with a Cu alloy containing a specific metal. CONSTITUTION:A coat of a Cu alloy containing Ni or Cr is formed on at least one surface of a fibrous belt or fleece which constitutes a filter medium. As a result, this metal coat gives a sterilization effect to bacteria accumulated on the surface of a filter material. In addition, compared to a coat of Cu or Cu-Ag alloy, the above-mentioned coat is superior in corrosion resistance, and demonstrates excellent sterilization effect for a long time.
