The transformation temp. of materials, esp. of amorphous vitreous metals is determined by measuring on an article (wire, strip, foil), contg. the metal, at least one electrical and/or magnetic property of the metal as a function of the temp. This property can be the resistance, inductance or capacitance of the article. Ni-P Layers with a content of 18 atom.% P are deposited chemically on an alumina ceramic with a surface roughness of 250 nm to a thickness of 100 nm. They are tempered in a nitrogen atmos. for 3 hrs. at temps. of 0-400 deg.C. This method is suitable even for low-energy transformations, e.g. thin deposits on ceramic substrates. It requires no local destruction of the test article and simulates the actual working conditions.
|
