The arrangement is intended for producing compressed air, partic. air used for clearing drill cuttings from a bore hole, e.g. for a rock drill, using a Diesel engine (1), which may power a hydraulic system driving the drill. The air is produced by a turbo-compressor (6) connected (5) to a gas turbine (3) driven by the engine exhaust (2). The engine may directly drive a second-stage compressor which may receive its air input from the first stage (6) via an air cooler.
