The mop frame consists of two frame parts (3, 5) which are attached to a support plate (1) and one (5) of which is mounted around a transverse axle (11) running transversely to the longitudinal direction (9) of the frame so as to be retainable on the support plate (1). The retention is to be brought about solely by pivoting the handle (14) attached in the manner of a universal joint on a bearing shaft (10) attached in two bearings (8) on the support plate (1) and running essentially parallel to the longitudinal direction (9). This is achieved by a bar (21) which is coupled to the bearing shaft (10) and comprises a limb (16) of the frame part (5) to be pivoted in the pivoting range of the handle (14) intended for the application. <IMAGE>
