PURPOSE:To obtain uniform propelling force of a linear stepping motor by setting the distance between the four exciting poles of a moving element to (n+1/4), n or (n+3/4) times of the pitch interval, thereby eliminating the variation in the magnetic reluctance at the time of switching a current flow. CONSTITUTION:The teeth 11 of a stator 10 are formed of the same pitch interval P. A plurality (2 in an example in the drawing) of teeth are formed on the lower surface of the poles 1-4 of a moving element are formed in the same pitch interval P as the teeth 11. The distance between the poles 1-4 are (n+1/4) at the distance between the poles of A phase and B phase, n.P between the B phase and D phase, and (n+3/4)P between the next D phase and C phase. The current flows are switched in the sequence of A, B, C and D. When the current flow thus switches, no change in the reluctance occur, with the result that uniform propelling force of the moving element can be obtained. |
