The present invention relates to an improvement in a method for displaying system-produced defects of color television composite video colour decoded component signals wherein the decoded signals normally are applied to respective separate electron guns of a colour display device. The improvement is comprised of applying one of the decoded signals to all of the separate electron guns to thereby improve the visual perception of the defects on the display.
