PURPOSE:To perform multi-color recording in more than three colors with improved color fractions by providing a thermal color layer containing a diazo compound and a coupler as coloring components and a pressure sensitive color layer which develops a different color from that of the former layer on a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermal color layer 2 containing a diazo compound and a coupler as coloring components and a pressure sensitive color layer 3 which develops a color different from that of the thermal color layer 2 are provided on a thermal and pressure sensitive recording material. Two kinds of diazo compounds which develop two different colors and a common coupler or a common diazo compound and two kinds of coupler are combinedly provided on the thermal color layer 2. Each one of the two kinds of diazo compound or each one of two kinds of coupler are enveloped by a microcapsule 4 which consists of a high polymer wall with a low temperature glass transition point and a microcapsule 5 consisting of a high polymer wall with a high temperature glass transition point, respectively. First, only diazo compound enveloped by the microcapsule which permits transmission of a compound at low temperature is optically fixed. Next, the diazo compound enveloped by the microcapsule which permits transmission of a compound at high temperature energy is caused to develop a color. |
