PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which has superior squareness, by using needlelike carbon fiber as carbon to be added to a magnetic layer as an antistatic agent. CONSTITUTION:To a composite consisting of needlelike magnetic powder, a binder, and an additive and a solvent added when necessary, carbon fiber is added as an antistatic agent; and they are mixed and dispersed sufficiently into a magnetic coating solution, which is applied to a nonmagnetic base. After orientation, the applied solution is dried, thus obtaining a magnetic recording medium. |
