This method has the purpose of providing a means of folding a work surface, making it particularly easy to unfold, under good conditions of asepsis. This working surface consists of a piece of fabric (T), in particular unwoven fabric, which has one face (S) intended to remain sterile and one face (C) intended to come into contact with the table. According to this method, a first series of folds, formed by two fold lines parallel to two opposite edges (B, H) of the said piece, is made on this piece, which folds delimit between them a narrow strip (1, 4) which is substantially equidistant from the said opposite edges, then, starting from one of the said lines, and in the direction of the near edge, a series of alternate folds (1, 2, 3) is made, comprising at least one intermediate fold (2) between a reverse fold (3) formed on the said line by drawing together two regions on the face (S) intended to remain sterile, and a reverse fold for holding, close to the said opposite edge, the set of alternate folds being folded down onto the said strip, then a second series of folds (4, 5, 6, 7) is made by repeating the same operation from the other fold line in the direction of the other edge, the folding being followed by the formation of two fold lines parallel to the two other opposite edges (G) of the sheet, and the repetition of the preceding operations starting from these two latter lines. <IMAGE> |
