PURPOSE:To manufacture a material having suitable coercive force and high residual magnetic flux density by melting Mn, Ni, Mo and Fe in a specified ratio in vacuum, repeating cold wire drawing and soln. heat treatment after hot working, and carrying out cold wire drawing and annealing under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A mixture consisting of, by wt., 3-7% Mn, 3-7% Ni, 1-3% Mo and the balance Fe is melted in a high frequency vacuum furnace, and the melt is cast in a mold to form an ingot. This ingot is homogenized, annealed, and hot worked. Cold wire drawing and soln. heat treatment are then repeated several times by an ordinary method to obtain an intermediate product. This product is subjected to cold wire drawing at >=90% reduction ratio, process annealing at 500-600 deg.C, cold wire drawing at >=95% reduction ratio, and final annealing at 550-600 deg.C. Thus, a semihard magnetic material having suitable coercive force and high residual magnetic flux density is manufactured. This material is easily plated at the contact. |
