In the composite profile, two parallel metal profiles (1, 2) are interconnected undetachably by means of heat-insulating clamping elements (3). The clamping elements (3) have projections for reaching behind longitudinal ribs of the metal profiles, each clamping element having two sections (4) which clamp the metal profiles (1, 2) elastically against one another. Arranged between the sections is a wedge (6), the wedge (6) not yet being fully driven in in a premounted state of the clamping element, in order that the clamping element (3) can be pushed in with some tolerance between the metal profiles. To reinforce the clamping element (3) and in order that the composite profile can be loaded more highly, each section (4) has a transverse cutout, into which a metal reinforcement clamp (25) is inserted. This clamp (25) is, on clamping of the clamping element by the wedge (6), also pressed outwards so that its leg ends (26), which reach behind the longitudinal ribs (10) of the part profiles, catch in the longitudinal ribs (10). Expediently, the leg ends (26) are grooved or provided with teeth. <IMAGE>
