<p>A continuous, liquid phase process for carbonylating methyl acetate with carbon monoxide gas in the presence of 2-7 volume percent hydrogen, and a catalytic combination of rhodium, and iodine compound and lithium. The use of 2-7 volume percent hydrogen with such catalytic combination in this process reduces tar formation and increases spacetime yields (grams/liter/hours(s)).</p> |
