PURPOSE:To inhibit fogging in a quick drying process without deteriorating the adhesion resistance of a sensitive material and to enhance the shelf stability, etc. by combinedly adding >=1 kind of polyol selected from specified 2 kinds of groups and an alkali metallic nitrate to a constituent element layer of the sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:To a hydrophilic colloid layer, especially the silver halide emulsion layer or the intermediate layer of a photographic sensitive silver halide material are added >=1 kind of polyol selected from di- and trihydric alcohols or ether glycols, etc. represented by formulaeI, II (where each Z is optionally substituted 1-10C alkylene, 2-10C alkenylene or 2-10C alkynylene; each of R1 and R2 is H or lower alkyl; n<1> is 2-4; and n<2> is 2-5), and an alkali metallic nitrate such as KNO3 or NaNO3. Thus, a sensitive material having high shelf stability and causing no fog even under sever processing conditions including a quick drying process is obtd. without deteriorating the sensitivity, contrast, pressure resistance, etc. |
