PURPOSE:To increase the high-rate discharge performance and the life of a nickel plate by placing an active material sheet on a surface of a metal net except the peripheral part of the metal net, pressing the folded metal net which holds the active material sheet, and fusing the peripheral part of the net to make the active material sheet to be wrapped in the net. CONSTITUTION:An active material paste 2 prepared by kneading an active material or the like is applied to a surface of a net 1, which is made of nickel, a stainless steel or a nickel-plated iron, with the peripheral part of the surface uncoated. The net 1 coated with a paste layer 2' is folded into halves along a center line (a) in the direction indicated by the arrows so that the layer 2' comes to be the inner side of the folded body. After that, the folded body is pressed with a plate press or a roll press, and peripheral parts 3 of the folded body are fused by an electric welding or the like for making the paste 2 to be wrapped in the folded net 1, thus a nickel plate is obtained. It is preferred that a current collecting body 5 is inserted between the paste 2 folded into halves. |
