The device for damping roller motion in railway bogies comprises a tubular cylindrical body (4) with two cover parts (6, 8) and a movable element (5) arranged in the body (4). A shaft (28) bears the movable element (5) and is slidably mounted in one of the cover parts (6). Between the cover parts (6, 8) and the movable element (5) elastic elements (spring core 64, 66) are inserted with the interposition of spacing elements (68, 70 and 74, 75). This results in a rigidity which is reduced when the relative displacement between the movable element (5) and the body (4) exceeds a predetermined limit value. <IMAGE>
