PURPOSE:To read the amount of the expansion and the contraction of the heat insulated expansion pipes, by fixing one end of wire to one pipe connected to a flexible joint, and fixing the other end of the wire to a spring of an external display scale thrugh a guide pipe provided on the other pipe. CONSTITUTION:The flexible expansion joint 7 is connected between the pipes 1 and 2 which transfer liquid whose temperature is extremely low, and the outside of the pipes are covered by a heat insulating outer pipe 8 wherein a heat insulating material is filled. One end of the wire 10 is connected to a flange 3 of the pipe 1, and the other end thereof is connected to the spring 15 of a measuring device 14 for measuring the amount of the expansion and the contraction through the guiding pipe 12 which is attached to a flange 4 of the pipe 2. In this constitution, when the liquid whose temperature is extremely low flows, the pipes 1 and 2 themselves contact, and the gap between the flanges 3 and 4 becomes long. Therefore, the wire 10 moves in the guide pipe 12, the spring 15 is compressed, and the amount of the contraction is displayed by a scale 17. Thus, the amount of the expansion and the contraction of the heat insulated pipes can be read from the outside. |
