The drive shaft of a driven machine is operated via an epicyclic gear from a rotor of an electric machine. The stationary part of the epicyclic gear are secured to the housing of the electric machine. The design incorporates two parallel connected, identical epicyclic gears (15) whose planetary wheels (14) are each carried by a stud (16), secured to the electric machine (1) housing (4). They mesh with the inner toothing (13) of a hollow rotor hub (9). The sun wheels (17) are secured to the drive shaft (2) in the housing and connected to at least one working machine either directly or via a clutch (3). Pref. the inner toothing is arranged adjacent to a front surface of the hollow rotor hub. The front faces of the latter are each fitted with a flange-forming shoulder (10), carrying a ring (11), with the inner toothing on its inner surface (12).
