PURPOSE:To perform accurate zooming operation as a photographer intends by varying the operation resistance of a manual operation tool associatively with a difference in the varying speed of focal length corresponding to the manipulated variable of the manual operation tool. CONSTITUTION:The driving control circuit 62A of a zoom motor driver 62 controls a zoom motor 63 so that the varying speed of the focal length when an operation ring 52 as the manual operation tool is operated into the 2nd operation area of an angle exceeding an angle theta right after the 1st operation area of an angle smaller than theta is different from the varying speed of the focal length when the ring 52 is operated into the 1st operation area. Then an operation resistance varying means varies the operation resistance of the manual operation tool 52 at the border of both operation areas. Consequently, the photographer can securely recognize the varying speed of the focal length is varied from variation in the operation resistance of this manual operation tool 52 even when, for example, a finder image does not vary accompanying the zooming operation. |
