PURPOSE:To obtain a negatively chargeable developing carrier capable of extending the copying life of a binary developer and sufficiently triboelectrifying a toner irrespective of environmental conditions by treating the carrier with a specified amino-modified silicone oil. CONSTITUTION:Reduced iron powder, iron oxide powder, a metal, such as Ni or Co, or its alloy or oxide, or ferrite, or the like having a particle diameter of 10-200mum are used for the toner carrier, and treated with the amino-modified silicone oil represented by formula I in which R is alkyl or aryl group having >=1 amino group, and each (x) and (y) is an integer of >=1, thus permitting the copying life of the developer to be extended, and the carrier of the negatively chargeable developer capable of sufficiently triboelectrifying the toner irrespective of environmental conditions. |
