PURPOSE:To enable a maintenance operator having no technical knowledge to detect easily a faulty printed board by referring to the guide messages delivered from a fault diagnosis backup device. CONSTITUTION:A substrate of a CPU has a fault and a fault diagnosis backup device is started by a maintenance operator. Thus a fault deciding means 3 works first and a message is delivered to an output device 7A from a message output means 5. The operator checks an error message delivered to a typewriter of a subject computer according to the message received by the device 7A and then supplies the information to an input device 7B to the checked message. An information input means 1 delivers the information supplied to the device 7B to the means 3 and decides the steps to be executed. When the prescribed execution steps are over, a repair indicating message is delivered to the device 7A. |
