[Also in Division C4] Examples 12 and 68-70 describe the reaction of 2,4,6-trichloro-pyrimidine with (a) aniline, the reaction mixture being fractionally crystallized to obtain 2-phenylamino-4,6-dichloropyrimidine and 4-phenylamino-2,6-dichloropyrimidine which are subsequently reacted with ethylamine to give 2-phenylamino- 4 - ethylamino - 6 - chloropyrimidine and 2 - ethylamino - 4 - phenylamino 6 - chloropyrimidine, and (b) 2-amino-ethanol to form 2-(#-hydroxyethylamino)-4,6-dichloropyrimidine which is then reacted with aniline to give 2-(#-hydroxyethylamino) - 4 - phenylamino - 6 - chloropyrimidine.</p> |
