The invention relates to a light, in particular rear light, which can be attached to a mudguard of a two-wheeled vehicle by means of a holding element. In order to attach a light of this type to the mudguard reliably and securely, a not inconsiderable expenditure on production and installation was hitherto required. Moreover, particular difficulties arise if the light is to maintain an exact alignment on the mudguard so that the beam can also be directed in a specified direction. It is therefore proposed to design the light in such a manner that the holding element can be fitted from the outside onto the mudguard, the holding element having hooks which on both sides engage around and grip behind the lower edges of the mudguard or engage in holes provided in the region of the lower edges. In this way, the light is mounted by means of the holding element and a clamping device directly or indirectly on the outer surface of the mudguard, the base of the light, or a carrier on which the light is directly or indirectly arranged, resting on the surface of the mudguard. The said clamping device acts according to the invention essentially perpendicularly on the surface of the mudguard. <IMAGE>
