Improvements in the plastic tray type container particularly for use with consumer goods e.g. meat, fish, fruit, vegetables etc. diclosed in GE. 1,810,094, which comprised a bottom, side walls projecting upwardly at an angle from the vertical and a top outwardly directed flange strengthened by a series of upwardly projecting ribs and crossing at right angles, and with reinforced quarter-circular rounded conrners, as well as diagonally running upwardly directed ribs in each section delimited by the mesh construction ribs and the improvements consisting of an arrangement whereby in selected regions the first rib is not intersected by the second rib but the teop surface of the latter is sloped downwards and joins the fist rib near its base, while the corner zones are reinforced by an inwardly directed step or shoulder which terminates in the end of the second rib. The containers are preferably stamped out or vacuum formed from a continuous strip. |
